Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service
The Somerset Suicide Bereavement Support Service offers a range of support options across Somerset to enable anyone aged from 14yrs+ who has been bereaved, or affected by a suicide, to find the right level of support for their needs.
1-2-1 Bereavement Support: Offering 1-2-1 bereavement support, and specialist bereavement counselling sessions, via online, telephone, and a number of locations across the county.
Peer Groups: They run a regular facilitated in-person Peer Groups in a number of locations where you can meet with, talk to, and hear from, other people who’ve been bereaved by suicide, in a safe, supportive and open environment.
Crisis support referral: For anyone who is feeling especially vulnerable they can refer you to a specialist listening service for dedicated calls.
Community Interventions: Sometimes a suicide can impact a whole community. They can bring our service to your community to offer support to anyone who needs it.
Early response support: Working with Avon & Somerset Constabulary, they will respond within 72hrs of a suspected suicide, offering support, or a listening ear to those immediately affected.
Information and Resources: If you’re a professional supporting someone who’s been bereaved by suicide as part of your role, they are here to offer advice and guidance to help you meet the needs of the individual.
