This is an encouragement as we prepare to mark 30 years since the original The Bereavement Journey course in a few weeks’ time.

Jackie Clune is an actor and writer working in theatre, TV and film, and Vice President of Equity, the union for creative industry workers. She started out as a Karen Carpenter comedy tribute act and has since worked across many different sectors of the industry, from West End musicals to International commercial touring, fringe, subsidised theatre and cabaret, as well as TV sitcom and drama.

Whilst his account is one of being 'spare' to the throne, of unconscious bias in a mixed-race marriage and of tabloid misinterpretation, underlying Prince Harry’s whole story is unresolved grief, whether that be in his memory loss, fears and other mental health challenges, his resorting to drugs to null the pain, or the anger, other heightened feelings and misunderstandings between him and his family.

Impact of the Pandemic on Bereavement
711 adults bereaved in the UK between March and December 2020, participated in this important research undertaken jointly by Cardiff and Bristol Universities. The findings are important and will have fed into the work of the UK Bereavement Commission which will report in September.
