Need Inspiration? Have a Look Here
Fundraising works well when you do something you enjoy doing. We’ve listed a few ideas here and we hope that we have included something for everyone. Whatever, you do, the trick is to have fun.
Sponsored Challenges
Take on a challenge and get sponsored by friends, family and colleagues.
Walk, Run, or Cycle. Organise a memorial walk, run a marathon, or take on a long-distance cycling challenge.
Extreme Challenges. Try skydiving, abseiling, or a Tough Mudder course for an adrenaline-fueled fundraiser.
Personal/Virtual Challenges. Set a goal to walk a certain number of steps or cycle a set distance in a month.
Sponsored events are an easy way for children to be involved in fundraising, such as a sponsored read, sponsored silence or sponsored bouncy castle bounce.
In Memory Fundraising
Honour a loved one while raising funds for a good cause.
Create a Tribute page. Set up an online tribute page where friends and family can donate to AtaLoss as well as adding photos and memories in honour of your loved one.
Memory Walk or Candlelit Vigil. Organise a gathering to remember someone special, with donations supporting the charity.
Fundraising on Special Dates. Fundraise to commemorate your loved one on their birthday, anniversary of death or another important date.
Fundraise on your own birthday or anniversaries instead of receiving gifts.
Community Events
Get people together for an event and have some fun.
Coffee Morning or Afternoon Tea. Host a tea party where guests donate in exchange for homemade cakes and a cup of tea.
Charity Quiz Night. Organise a pub quiz and charge an entry fee for teams.
Live Music or Open Mic Night. Invite local artists to perform and sell tickets for entry.
Charity Auction or Raffle. Gather donated prizes and hold a fundraising draw.
Workplace Fundraising
Engage colleagues in raising money together.
Bake Sale. Sell homemade cakes and biscuits to raise funds.
Step challenge. Use fitness trackers to see who can take the most steps in a week/month.
Host a charity Golf Day or other social event.
Matched Giving. Encourage your employer to match the amount raised by staff.
Online and Social Media Fundraising
Use the power of the internet to reach more people.
Facebook or Instagram Fundraisers. Set up a donation page for your birthday or a special occasion.
Personal/Virtual Challenges. Encourage people to donate if you complete a set challenge, such as reading 10 books in a month.
Charity Live Stream. Host a gaming marathon, a virtual concert, or an online workshop with donations supporting AtaLoss.
Seasonal Fundraising Ideas
Make the most of annual celebrations by fundraising in a themed way.
Christmas Jumper Day. Ask for donations in return for wearing festive jumpers.
Easter Egg Hunt. Charge an entry fee and hide chocolate eggs for children to find.
Mothers and Fathers Day Fundraisers. Host an event for mothers or fathers with donations remembering those who have died.
In everything you do don’t forget to tell everyone about AtaLoss, the charity helping bereaved people find support and wellbeing, in particular through our signposting website AtaLoss.org.
